Founded in 2019 by a group of puzzle enthusiasts and theater professionals, Downtown Escape began as a bold vision to transform how people experience entertainment in Toronto. What started as late-night brainstorming sessions in a cramped apartment has evolved into one of the city's premier escape room destinations.
Our journey began when our founder, Marcus Chen, was stuck in a particularly challenging escape room in Prague during his travels. The experience was so immersive and emotionally engaging that he knew he had to bring this level of storytelling and puzzle design to Toronto. Upon returning home, he assembled a team of creative minds from diverse backgrounds including game design, theater, technology, and psychology.
